Lord, to whom shall we go?

"LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?"

"We have come to believe and are convinced that You are the Holy one of God."

Deacon John Ruscheinsky

There is a big spot light on St. Peter in today's First Reading of Acts. The spreaders of the Gospel were successful if they could argue effectively that Jesus Christ saved the world through His death and resurrection. They were given the power to perform miracles from physical to spiritual illness. We read today that Peter cures both the paralyzed Aeneas and brings Tabitha back to life.

The Responsorial Psalm focuses the importance of healing: "how shall I make return to the Lord for all the good he has done for me?" And in the Gospel of John, things are not going smoothly for Jesus and the disciples. Talking about eating His flesh and drinking His blood has make some of them turn away from our Lord. When Jesus asks those remaining if they will stay or go, Peter the Rock, jumps in immediately with his confident reply: "We have come to believe and are convinced that You are the Holy one of God."

Points to Pray and Ponder: Real faith is not blind nor ignorant. It seeks understanding and truth! Our heavenly Father give us the help of the Holy Spirit to enlighten the eyes of our mind to understand truth and wisdom...
